Question 🙋🏻‍♀️

What is the biggest change you see in yourself in recovery? Also what’s your biggest challenge and how do you deal with it?

So far, I feel I can get through sentences so easily again. Like there is a new expressway from my brain to my mouth.

In the words of the honey bagger “I don’t give a f***” hahah meaning that I don’t care what anyone thinks of me to be sober or if anyone cares to like me.. sober is the best thing that’s happened to me let alone so much I get done now rather then nursing a hang over the next day, instead I get up early and get things done!!

I think my biggest challenge is I am always thinking about the next thing meaning what can I do to better myself mentally, physically and emotionally that’s my challenge to try and beat myself the day before.. hope that makes sense

Self-esteem & self-worth!!!!! Oh my goodness what a difference! Seeing a much deeper beauty in all things and constant positive vibes! My main struggle is stttiillll my terrible codependency- wanting to “save the world” but focusing hard on keeping the Energy Vampires awwwaaayyy! I am starting IOP wed and going to be attending weekly CoDa meetings in addition to a lot of other recovery stuff for the mind/body/soul— all to keep working on ME!! Hope you’re doing well!

My biggest change is my self respect. I am in control of myself at all times and I no longer have to deal with shame and embarrassment that came with my sloppy drunken nights. My biggest challenge is dealing with social anxiety.

Well that’s normal. All we do is try to keep busy to distract our minds and as the days go by it gets easier… to me at least... Of course I still have my days though… :woman_shrugging:t2:

God we all had those nights… I MOST DEF don’t miss waking up feeling like an A-hole. :no_good_woman:

In rehab… that was the best part! Seeing people gradually improve and get better than the day they stepped in those doors. It’s f-ing amazing to see them talk more, skin clear up, just blossom all together ! :raised_hands:t3:

Biggest change I see in MYSELF i’d have to say is SELF WORTH and DRIVE. My biggest challenge is definitely beating BOREDOM AND LONELINESS. I miss rehab and being with my sisters. I miss laughing with them and making fun memories. The days would fly by and I NEVER had cravings or thought about drugs EVER. Being home and lonely is DEF A TRUE test and so far… i’m doing great. I’d be lying if i said it wasn’t HARD at times but I get through it and stay focused on what needs to be done in order for me to get thru the day. :pray:t3::raised_hands:t3:

I've been sitting here thinking about this for like 20 min, and I can't really put my finger in anything yoo deep. I guess clarity is the biggest one. Also, a lack of guilt, a sense that when I walk around, I know I am good and pure, and not worrying if I'm "ok" - I know that I am!

Yeah I get that… Everyday I go out I can’t help but think of how I used to act or how i reacted to people/situations high.. I thought I was pretty awesome on drugs or I felt that way …. but was I really that awesome? LOL. So I thought to myself before I walked into rehab…. If i’m this f-ing awesome… JUST WAIT TILL I GET OUT OF REHAB! :joy: Im just being ME. I think i’m pretty awesome. :woman_shrugging:t2: i mean it’s so different and adjusting to this life is so crazy… but beautiful.

Being high was NOT awesome.

Also being mean to the workers at little caesar’s because they gave me mushed up brownies that i got for my kids wasn’t very awesome so I should probably go apologize for making them give me 2 liters for free that day. :joy:

When do u get out of rehab? Today is my last day!

I genuinely enjoy being around people. Something i struggle with is honestly. I try to not put myself in situations where I know I will lie. I also lie by omission when I have a hard time being vulnerable. It takes time to completely out grow these struggles. And tbh is also quite humbling too.
