I used to always have a reason to drink. Celebrating, missing someone, depression, birthday/holiday, or even just because. What are some reasons why you choose to stay sober?
So I can be the best me possible. I control my emotions and if I get depressed or angry it’s over in half an hour. I enjoy celebration’s just as much, even more, no hangover’s. I have gained so much confidence. It feels amazing to be in control and strong. Go to a concert and watch the drunk people as a sober person. You won’t want to join them.
Celebration, birthday, wedding, holiday… now I remember them. That’s why I stay sober
It was raining, sunny, happy, sad any day that ends with a Y
Because I'm a burning dumpster when I'm drunk. Now I'm just a dumpster.
It doesn’t serve me. I feel balanced and calm sober. Slower to react and less annoyed over little things. I’m a better mom and human without alcohol. I find I am able to connect to people, and process some of the stuff I’ve been through.
Waking up feeling good physically and not being embarrassed about anything I said or did the night before. (Well, most of the time. Haha)
Feel healthy. Not causing problems with friends, family, or criminal. Money, successful career, and most of all some self respect.
Man, too many black outs. Do not miss the self loathing.
So I can sleep welll and feel good every day!

Health and now I have a family.
Continuing to drink would have also landed me 6 feet under, I'm not ready for that yet.
One of the many things I learned in the program was, if I’m a alcoholic I don’t need an excuse to drink. I didn’t really drink to celebrate. I drank for effect.
I choose to stay sober today because Sobriety has given me peace of mind and a life worth living. That was absent when I drank.
I choose to stay sober for me mainly. But I also stay sober for my son, to enjoy a beautiful sunny day, to wake up feeling great knowing everything I did the night before, and definitely to have peace of mind.
I made drinking and partying a top priority since I was 15. I couldn’t enjoy anything if it didn’t involve me getting buzzed or tore up. I don’t want that anymore….There’s a lot of reasons I stay sober but that’s one of many.
Just because!!! Just for today!
Don’t have to rely on dad for money, don’t want to go back to rehab, I can see and talk to my family freely now, I remember events better and can manage my emotions easier, am proud of myself for the more time I get and am able to set healthier boundaries with my dad and others.
Just because
I do it for my 3 sons they deserve the best me….
