To show others it can be done, that’s my reason.
Because I have tried to drink in moderation many times and it never ends well. I wake up now without regrets and hangovers and so many more wins.
For my family who deserves a sober present wife and mother
I stay sober because I just want more for myself, using was just holding me back from my full potential.
Right now I stay sober simply because I can't drink successfully like I want to. I still think about drinking all the time. In two days I will have two months of sobriety. I hope I can find more reasons.
My son is my main reason
To be true to myself and those that I love. To be the best man and role model I can be.
To live a more fulfilling life. I would also like to have children someday and set a good example for them.
Well first and foremost to keep my wife and kids 2nd I have the life that I never had and do not want to lose it
At first I stayed sober because I was losing weight, and knew that I didn’t need all those calories. Then I stayed sober because I was proud of my streak. Now I stay sober because it’s who I am now. I would never want to disappoint my kids or my employer again. I love who I am now.
Because I’m much happier now.
For my family, for my health and most of all for me!
Because everything that I have worked for would be up in smoke.
Can’t write music drunk plus getting off of it is horrible compared to the apparent joy of getting on it…I keep that pain close…it’s my watch dog
Because sober me gets to go to work, gets to have a home, gets to see his grandkids. I'm doing it for me!
Number one is for myself. I knew alcohol was slowly killing me. Number two is because I am a mom and my son means the world to me. I couldn’t fathom leaving him to do life alone.
To live life as fully as I used to. I was always known for being “Happy Cathy” after several traumas in a two year span I began self medicating with wine and vodka w cranberry juice. I kept trying to get sober and falling down. I’m proud that I kept trying and now I’m a few weeks shy of a year sober. I feel like I got my life back. I’m not happy with how much it aged me, ruined my teeth & smile but I am absolutely thrilled to be alive and to not have the obsession. It’s behind me now. I’m in therapy for all my unaddressed traumas and PTSD. The man that hurt our family is sitting in a cell at Huntsville prison where he deserves to be for 9 years and I am finally able to put my hatred, resentments and that person (my drunk self for ten years) behind me. I love myself again, I love my life my supportive family and am living presently again. It is SO incredibly freeing!!!
because my boyfriend got sober and because I love him too much to lose him and hopefully someday him and I will have kids together. if use again then he will eventually leave me and if I wind up pregnant and use at all then the state will take the baby away from me at birth so is using really worth all of that not to mention they will probably put me in prison for a year or force me to go to a half way house and 6 month minimum inpatient treatment center as an additional punishment while taking away our baby too if thats how the state does it idk . then to top it off I'd probably lose my job and my parents and my brother and others would be disappointed in me and my mom would never trust me again even though I wasnt ever a person to never question trust with even while I used but because of using she would always automatically assume the worst no matter the person that used even with me too and I understand that's the way that she felt about it I cant blame her for it. but weighing all of these cons of it makes it not worth using again. especially not worth losing my 5 year almost 6 year now relationship with my boyfriend ronnie. plus I physically feel better inside and out without it and so does my wallet too and my animals approach me more often for attention now than they used to while I was using so life without using is all around so much better. for those who still use then do yourself a favor and quit now. I promise you that you'll feel better. the first 21 days might be the hardest but if we can all do it then we know that you can too. like yoda says "Do or do not, there is no try!" Thank you
I wish you all the best of luck on your journey
For my health, I get to be the best mom and version of myself every day! Mental health is still a tough one but now I get to actually feel again and not numb myself
Health wealth and happiness
