Went 26 days and then convinced myself it was fine to get wasted. It was a good reminder of why I stopped but I’m pretty disappointed. I was so excited to hit 30 days and let myself down.
Hang in there and start again!
It has happened to me recently too, get back on track… it’s a new day:)
Don’t beat yourself up. The demon is a sneaky one and our minds will do anything…lie, manipulate, beg just to get what it craves. Now you have another tool that you can use. You know you can not “get wasted” because of the repercussions. Get back on the horse. The 26 is not lost… you still have those to build off of.
It's ok. We've all been there. Talking through the slips are good. I try no to imagine "going back to zero", but look at my progress and remind myself how much less I drank over a time period. One binge is 27 days is better than 27 binges
I did the same thing. I had a good 30 plus days under me and figured I could do one drink but I was kidding myself and felt I let myself down too. However, the fact that we’re both on here admitting to our slip ups is a big sign of growth so keep on the right track. You can do it! We’re all in this fight together.
Thank you so much
Thank you
Heck yea!
Thank you!
Thank ya
You know what to do
Please don't beat yourself. Look at the positive... You slipped and didn't slide. Meaning you made a mistake and immediately recognized it.
Do it again (26 days)! I
Relapsed maybe 2 dozen times in the years preceding my current sober date June’21. I’m not “proud” of the relapses but after the repeated failed attempts I finally gave AA a chance- which has proven the difference maker. I had to give my will* and my life* over to my higher power and embrace a new way of living… up until I did I held onto hope that I could drink like a normal person and that belief is what led me to each and every failed attempt at lasting sobriety.
Sending you good vibes- you are here and may be on the path to the sober life you know you deserve.
It happens. It’s part of the recovery. As long as you accept it and start over. You got this.
It’s ok, don’t be hard on yourself. We’re human not perfect. Today is a new opportunity.
never give up
I can relate… I was on a sobriety journey for 2 months and had a relapse. We got this! Today is a new day. It’s not about how hard we fall but how strong we get up! We are here to support each other
It happens unfortunately. Just get right back up there and show recovery what you got!!
Don’t beat yourself up! Relapse can be a very important part of recovery! You didn’t lose those 26 days. They are still there along with everything you’ve learned during them. You know what you need to do!! You got this Vanessa!!! Keep that head up!!!
Important thing is you came back! When I first came in the line "Keep Coming Back" was all I could remember, so that's what I did. Even after a relapse...that relapse showed me humility. So Vanessa, look for your lesson from your relapse. Thank you for being honest, you helped Keep me sober today.
