So defeated

i relapsed hard the other night. i lost control and i’m regretting everything. all of the progress i made is gone. i don’t know if i have another day 1 left in me.

Don't look at it that way. The progress still exists. I've relapsed twice this year but sought help quickly. Ergo, I've been sober 361 out of the past 365 days of the year. Looking at the overall span , that's pretty good and not as disheartening as losing a streak. Don't think of it as a day 1 , just think of getting back on track and increasing the percentage of time spent sober, which is better in almost every way. For some of us , relapses are inevitable; it's about limiting the duration of that relapse and seeking help quickly to get back on track, which you have done. I don't know how hooked you are by now , but I require medical detox pretty much every time. You know what you have to do to get back at it. You're doing great. Good luck regardless.

I am on day 8 for like the 12th time this year. Starting over is hard! But quickly recommit yourself to your sobriety! Go to a meeting, read some sober literature, follow sober accounts on Instagram. Keep all the distractions in your life positive! You can do this!

You can beat this, baby steps leading up to sober momentum. I hope you feel better soon.

You have to pick yourself up and just jump back on the Sattel :two_hearts: it’s hard and it’s discouraging… But; this is simply a hiccup and you just need to take yourself away from people, places, & the things that you know are & will affect your sobriety. Because don’t feel bad hun I’m 4 years & 9 months clean & sober and struggling with the thoughts just remember you always have another recovery ❤‍🩹 but you might not have another relapse. Best wishes you got this :v:!!!

Day 1 is possible! And it's there ready for you.
There is nothing you can do about what you did. NoTHING so try to not think of it. the future is NOW this very second and it can be whatever you want it to be. Your choice!

Check back in tomorrow!

Leila, you don’t lose what you have learned with a relapse. Remember you can never fail unless you stop trying. Just tell yourself that this battle isn’t over until I win. I have relapsed many times in my journey to sobriety, by no means have I ever wanted to or justified relapsing. Just refuse to shame myself and feel guilty as those feelings have never benefitted anyone.

Welcome back you can do this!! It happens now get back to work on yourself sweetie

I have relapsed a handful of times, don’t beat yourself up. You will get it!

Keep ya head up

Try to be gentle with yourself. Relapses can hurt bad enough without beating ourselves up. I hope you feel better soon, and wish you the best.

I'm proud of you for even posting this! Much love! Stay strong! Forgive yourself! :v::green_heart:

Falling off the wagon can be disheartening. One thing I liked from the meetings is the 10/80/10 rule. It helps me keep focus on what is important. 10% on the past 80% present and 10% on the future. We can't change what is already done but we can learn from it. So you relapsed yea it sucks, but if you focus on your present and stay in the present moment hitting your goals you can still make your future goals. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves some grace and move forward with our goals in life. Keep going on your journey with your head up you've got this.

Leila.. You fell off the bus. Get back on and let’s do this again. You have the will to do this . Start over and let that pass on . Go back out there and fight this battle with pride and prove yourself and everyone else that you’re going to win this battle. Don’t let yourself down. Do this Leila.

You can’t beat yourself over decisions from the past. You also can’t let one mishap define your next moves. I’ve relapsed more times than I can count and I get it, it’s crushing but it’s a learning experience. Remember what triggered you or what led up to using and learn from it. Jump back on that sobriety train and hang on!
