Someone mentioned sugar the other day.

“As I anxiously sit in a meeting. The craving has become unbearable. I count the seconds til it’s over, Maybe I can have just one. No one will know. Then I think of how far I have come. Is it worth it? I must overcome the insanity. I must avoid the cake and cookies at the end of the table!”

I am happily surprised to see the numbers on the scale going down....I forgot all the empty calories I consumed in my
"beverages"...6 pack of light beer is an extra 600 calories I didn't need (along with the shots, mixed drinks etc)

Reminds me, I better slice off a chunk of zucchini bread, lather it up with butter and down it with a glass of milk.

Tony!! Do you like to cook or bake? I count macros myself and my coach actually told me about Remington James on YouTube! He has HUNDREDS of meals he changed recipes to be healthier and keep weight off and muscle on. Examples of some desserts he remade- brownies cookies, Oreo cheesecake, peanut butter cookies etc etc. they're easy to follow and delicious! I hope this helps❤️

For me the biggest temptation is the candy shop near me. They have been in existence since the 1890's and they have chocolates that beat Godiva. As a former chef and fat person I try to avoid gourmet sweets but dang the temptation.

I became a vegan and lost 40 lbs. At age 63 I wear the same size I wore in my early 20's.
32 W 34 L.

Sugar is a tough one. It's hard to escape when you eat like everyone else.
Whenever you eat something, read the ingredients. All my food is prepared at home. No sugar or oil. No fast food.

Total abstinence and cravings will eventually subside.

I removed 90% of the sugar in my diet. The only sugars I’m getting are from fruits and some other foods like vanilla Greek yogurt. It tough. Carbs are the same way. Trying to consume less than 50g a day. The struggle is well worth it. Same as you, I’m 52 and have the body I have in my 20’s

Well the body turns alcohol to sugar. So quitting drinking is like quitting sugar. Your body will crave the sugar you’re no longer giving it & you’ll find yourself binge eating sugary snacks in early sobriety.

Sugar is the worst drug humanity knows, truly. It’s killing millions… obesity!

Oh that's AMAZING! You know what to do then :upside_down_face:

Peppermint—Tea, gum, essential oil, etc. The smell of peppermint has been shown to decrease sugar cravings in the moment.
