Thank you. You too

Trying this for the first time because I feel very isolated doing this at the moment so I guess I’m working on it.

Thank you!

All we every have is this 24 hours. In a manner of speaking, every day is Day 1 because anyone of us could choose to pick up today.

Like the rest of us, you made a choice this morning not to pick up. Now just promise yourself that when you put your head down tonight that you have held true to that choice.

Have you reached out to anyone? A group, individuals, anything like that? It can be a very tough road to walk alone but that isn’t your only option. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, we’ve all tried to white knuckle this on our own and it rarely works.

Reached out to anyone in the sober community or in general?

All anyone has is one day…today.

Each time we start over, we are that much stronger. We become that much better than we were before. It's an opportunity to grow and develop. We may fall but do we stay down or do we get up to live a new day. You are that much more resourceful to us but with compassion, love, and self awareness of your worth, you are more inside and out than the mirror reveals to you. #peace #love #grateful #welcomeback #gladyouarehere #recoveryfamily #support

I’m going to try and do this on my own for now with this group for support. I’m not ready for AA.

We never are ready… lol here are other programs you can look into as well. SMART recovery, recovery darma, there is another one that is all women… can’t remember the name of that one… we have all tried to do it on our own at one time or another. For the majority of us it only lead back to the bottle. If you can go it alone more power to you. Just know there are those out there to help. All you need to do is ask.

There are other methods besides AA. Some good books too, I like the audio versions. Alcohol Explained, The Naked Mind, Quit Like a Woman, etc.
