Really am proud of you! Iām so sorry! Please donāt let idiots ruin what a good man is. Because we are all made from our mistakes. The stuff I put others through but now some still look at me as the a*****e that was messed up all the timeā¦Iāve come so far!! As far as the man I am today! But seriously really proud of you! "His loss". "he's jacka$$". Etc etc. You all sound ridiculous. None of us know him and we barely know Casey. BUT, we ARE all on Team Casey, right? So, since we are on Team Casey, we all want to believe that Casey has good judgement on guys or her taste in them. So, by that, the guy was probably pretty okay, since she stated it was going well and she was a bit bummed by the outcome. I mean, if he was a jƫrk, then she wouldn't care. So like I said before, maybe the guy has been through things with other addicts before, and he's just not ready to deal with the baggage that comes along with dealing with one of us. I mean, women do this every day, they don't wanna date guys that have had problem in the past , they incessantly go on about "red flags" so why wouldn't a guy be able to protect himself as well?
I think it's important to understand both sides of everything if we are going to actually salvage our lives. It's going to be difficult.

Yes that is the upside to it.
In the early 1900s alcoholics were committed for alcohol insanity. The big book talks extensively how alcoholics are insane. What sane person would volunteer to ruin their health, family, job, life over a beverage? When the disease takes over we lose the ability to make rational thoughts. The courts regularly find people innocent because of insanity. Alcoholics should be treated the same. We need help, not judgement
It's not "judgement". People need to stop throwing that around like a bunch of overly sensitive children. If a girl I'm interested in gives me a hard pass because she has dated three guys with tattoos all over and were ex junkies, and all three were bad experiences, who can blame her. For fĆ¼cks sake, think of both sides of the coin. This is all part of dealing with the wreckage of our pasts.

I've had that happen to me also, and I accept that some people will be spooked by my past. I can't turn back the clock.

Iāve been one to be honest from the start and come clean with all my trauma at the beginning. If theyāre gonna run Iād rather that happen before feelings progress but it also builds trust knowing Iām not hiding the āworstā parts of me. Be yourself and if itās meant to be itāll happen.
