Yessss I’ve gained quite a bit of weight from it as well but I’m in my early stages of recovery. So, I’m only focusing on the serious stuff for the moment so I don’t lose sight. I’ll fix that hav it later. When I’m more stable.

Yeah, those last a little while. Sugar releases dopamine just like alcohol does. So the brain kinda confuses the two together. Super common in early recovery. Just try and keep in mind how much and often your eating sugar. You might try some light exercise or find a healthier way to curb your cravings.

That’s a good way to handle it. Focus on one thing at a time- the important things first like recovery

Thank you!

Absolutely. 15 years sober and I still crave sugar

Honestly one of my biggest cravings. It’s harder to quit than alcohol

I’ve been Skittle free for about a month. I’d buy a 4 lb snack size box.

I have battled sugar cravings my whole life. They intensified when I got sober. Typical response for a lot of us. I try not to get started each day on sugar because it just leads to more cravings. I’m at least 30 lbs overweight so not doing too well. I’ll follow this for suggestions….

Skittles were my fav

Delaying gratification is a good idea. I’ll try that

The additive personality doesn’t go away. I start my day with coffee and cookies. It’s nuts but I eat way better than I use to. It’s that sugar salt battle.

I need to be addicted to something more productive then

Yes! I too have gained weight in early recovery from sugar cravings. Lately I've just been trying to practice self control and not buy the junk food. And have some fruit instead when the cravings hit. I also use those flavor drops for water that are a little sweet and that helps too! I know I feel better, sleep better, etc. when I eat healthier but it's a daily battle for sure.

Completely normal after not drinking. Again in moderation it’s ok.

Sorry but I eat whatever I like and I don’t really gain weight. No need to combat sugar cravings

I eat all the sugar.

I figured out perfect drink. Well for me.

Cuties. The seedless tangerines are a life saver
