They say “fix yourself first blah blah blah…”

The longer I’m alone the more I realize there’s no fixing what’s wrong with me…

Yah, I used to think I was unfixable too.

We grow, we change, we suffer, we endure . its always darkest b4 the dawn . And let me tell u all that suffering builds great character. When u finally reach real freedom u will be untouchable. Nothing can hurt u as much as u already hurt ur self . . Everything becomes a blessing pure bliss

That’s true, pretty much nothing surprises or phases me anymore. I expect the worse, I’ve stopped hoping for the best. I’m just sober now and have to take all the sh*t that is life over and over and over until I die…

Its hard to comprehend that something isn't wrong. But that is truly the case . There is nothing wrong with u . I used drugs because I wanted to get high . A higher state of mind . Thats y they call it getting high. I stopped using drugs because I realized that there is a better high 1 can get naturally . Its what we are meant to feel- pure consciousness . Drugs trick u . They give u a small immatation taste of this higher consciousness. .

sisuaton s in our life will happen good or bad doesn't matter . How we react to these situations matter . If we are expecting neg stuff to happen we will only see neg stuff around us . But who is to truly say its neg anyway . Later on we could look back and see that what we thought was neg at the time turned out to be excatly what was needed to learn

Anytime something happens that u see as neg just know that in time it will most likely be a good thing. Even if u can't see it then . Focus on the present and let go of that neg trash . It doesn't serve u to create problems . Soon the person of ur dreams will drop right into ur lap. Its always darkest right b4 the dawn . Then it all changes stay the course

If you honestly don't think you can fix what's there, then make new and build on top of it to outshine the rest

Everything. I stayed sober. I went into therapy. I decided that not enjoying what I did for a living was a good enough reason to do something else. I took up Buddhist meditation. I cut ties with toxic people.

I’m really struggling with what to do next. I’d love to start over but I have no idea what that would entail at this point. Even finding a new hobby or interest is proving very difficult.

Small things add up. I always tell people to just "get a win " doesn't matter how big or small. Get that W for the day. Could be anything. Walk a mile, read 2 chapters of a book, clean out a room in the house, learn 5 sentences in a foreign language, whatever - Get in the accomplishment mindset and bigger things will come next

That’s a good point. I really took a hit psychologically when I broke my clavicle, and couldn’t lift for a while. It’s still not healed, and I have at least a month before I can try to really push it again. I do lower body stuff, light curls, and ride my bike like a bank robber, but I don’t get that “winning” feeing I used to when working out. Need something new to work towards.

Same with my career and my finances. Made some serious gains this year and feel like I’ve plateaued.

I’m a voracious reader. My favorite authors are the Russian philosophers.

If you're looking for something new and rewarding try heading out to a General Aviation airport and talking to a flight instructor. Tell them you want to go up for a discovery flight. You will perform all the duties pilots perform from PreFlight, taxi, run up, takeoff and touchdown.

More exciting than even riding a Harley. If you want to become a pilot, it will require commitment.

Thanks.

You need a gratitude journal. It rewires your brain to be more positive. It helped me personally. You have to give it 30/60 days tho

Well Michael, I live in south Brooklyn. If you go to meetings in Bay Ridge, Park Slope, or anywhere around south Brooklyn, then yeah, maybe I will see you.
