Your sobriety date is up to you. Personally I don’t see it as an issue. What is possible an issue is why did you feel the need to do that. You should discuss it with your network and/or you sponsor.
I do those too. Has the same effect on me mentally as the N/A Beers so that's why I don't consider it a relapse
Thank you!! It has less than 0.5 percent which is why I started feeling bad. I'm such an overthinker.
I don’t get why alcoholics use n/a beer as a substitute. You’re just teasing yourself and you WILL 100% relapse. That’s a bandaid when you need open heart surgery.
It's your choice. To thine own self be true. Many people don't realize this but alcohol-free drinks can contain a small amount of alcohol (up to 0.5% ABV). They aren't suitable if you’re alcohol dependent, in recovery, or need or want to avoid alcohol for any other reason.
I believe beer to be an acquired taste. In my experience, when you remove the alcohol it doesn't leave much to be desired.
I believe the best medicine is complete abstinence and staying away from anything that even resembles anything that we use to drink.
More often than not we want to continue hanging around the drinking crowd while keeping our abstinence a secret. We're trying to fit in without the alcohol. I'm reminded of the old adage, if you hang around a barber shop long enough you're going to get a haircut.
I've been down that road once or twice and it turned out to be a dead end. The only thing we have to change is everything. This includes the people we hang out with and the places we hang out at.
There's a beautiful life out there to be lived outside of the drinking community.
That's been my experience.
How would that effect your sobriety date? You remained sober because they are non-alcohol.
90 days is amazing!! I just picked up a 6 pack of Heineken 0.0 at the food store. Do whatever you feel is right and don’t pick up a drink. One day at a time
They have a bit of alcohol. Less than 0.5%
I stopped daily drinking of regular beer @ 5% ABV back in May and any alcohol in August with the help of all the new Non-alcoholic beverages out there today. I still enjoy the taste of beer, even the dark ones without the alcohol. I have no desire to go back to where I was ever again.
AA also states that taking medication, including antidepressants, isn’t advisable. There are a lot of solid principles outlined in AA, but it’s also outdated, in my opinion. I also drink N/A beer & wine from time to time, & it hasn’t triggered a relapse or anything close to a relapse.
I don’t really think you can tell anyone that they will “100% relapse.” Everyone’s recovery is different, & what might make one person relapse will not make another person relapse.
Keep your ninetydays see what happens next
I have 15 years with not a drop of alcohol that's my alcohol sobriety date.! My life has gotten immensely exponentially by 1 million times better since I stopped drinking that's the end of this conversation for my AA people however for my addicts I don't know what to tell you if your life's getting better and then you have two non-alcoholic drinks and they make your life worse then I would not drink non-alcoholic drinks
At this point without a drop for 15 years I'm not willing to risk it I don't care if alcohol is in an NA or a beer I'm not having those I'm not having wine I'm not having whiskey I'm not having a mixed drink you know I'm staying home having water reading a book and going to bed amen that's my recovery it does not have to be your recovery 15 and a half years not one drop of alcohol
If you’re asking for an answer.
Odds are you probably already know it but want others to sign off on it.
There’s a bottom line here, maybe it’s up to you.
But you have to be completely honest with yourself.
I’m pretty sure you don’t have to change your sobriety date because of that.
You don't have to change your sobriety date. The big concern with NA beer is that you'll go back to the real thing.
I have drank N/A beverages and I am approaching 90 days. The way I look at it is I do not care what others think as long as I know it is not jeopardizing my recovery
It’s up to you if you decide if it’s a lapse
I drink 0.0 and by definition has no alcohol. Haters can hate
