Today I’m waking with a heavy heart. I’ll be 10

Today I’m waking up with a heavy heart and anxious mind. I’ll be 10 months sober come September 10th but having recurring hospital appointments from chronic health complications; all relating to my liver, is really hammering down on me. I’m trying to keep myself grounded with warm tea, a lit candle and breathing exercises but I could really use some words of encouragement. I don’t want to call off work, but the emotional distress feels a bit overwhelming right now. Hoping I can replenish my mood before time.

I’m sorry you’re going through all that. Do your breathing exercises and be proud you are 10 months sober. You are working hard to better your health. 🩵

I took some time to really go through my self care routine so I managed to get some journaling done and wrote a poem to myself. I just finished meditating and now I’m going to bodybuild to really wake myself up. I appreciate you taking time provide uplifting words, thank you so much. It means so much more than you know

You are amazing. You can do this. Here’s a quote that helps me sometimes, I hope it helps you too.

“Sometimes the strength within isn’t a big fiery flame for all to see.

Sometimes it’s just a tiny spark that whispers ever so softly

‘Keep going, you got this’”

Thank you! Meditation really does help a lot and I always try to encourage others to start or at least try it when they can. Definitely give you a peace of mind

I appreciate you sharing this with me because it definitely helped, thank you so much! Do you remember who the quote came from if it’s fine I ask? I’d like to read more into the writer who made it

I appreciate you taking the time to look, I couldn’t find it either but thank you!

I enjoy Nikita Gill when I’m feeling down sometimes if you want to check her out. She gives me strength when I am down.

Imagine not having been sober the last 10 months. What are you grateful for today? At least the hospital isn't calling the police ! Gratitude saves lives

I’m very genuinely confused as to whether or not you’re providing words of encouragement or if you’re calling me ungrateful…

Hopefully words of encouragement.. are you feeling by any better?

I hope so too, but as of now, yes! I think my boss purposefully gave me the weekend off because they’re aware of my health complications. I decided to stop by to visit my favourite store and check in with the shop owners. We made good conversation so now I’m on my way home to relax and rest. Thank you for asking. I hope you’re having a good day yourself

Isolating myself was never good for me. Calling off work just gave me an opportunity to sit in self pity wanting to drink. I had to push through hard time. I have seen so many health related miracles happen when people stay sober. They say don't give up before the miracle...and I am glad I didn't. It get so much better.
