Unpopular opinion

To each their own. I think if you aren’t abusing it go for it. If you are abusing it be honest with yourself.

That's why I didn't respond my dear. It's not their fault. They don't really realize that any outside mind altering substances aren't the problem. It's us that's the problem. Some are sicker than others and I've had the privilege of watching medicinal use of marijuana cure cancer. It's not worth any kind of answer back to them. God is good and if that works for you, that's what works. We will hopefully all have a spiritual awakening at some point, and they'll understand one day. Love you. I'm here for you for support.

They don’t know it’s not the marijuana you get in a sandwich bag :joy:

Or it was working as prescribed to treat the ptsd/trauma, and when you stopped taking your medication the symptoms returned?

Right! And, that's why it's becoming legal everywhere. They can't keep ignoring that it works. ANYTHING can be misused. To thine own self be true..... God is always the answer and I went to my elders about using it. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME IN AA!!!!!!!!!! LOL...take you some weed and sit down somewhere....read a book, start drawing like you once did...feel the pain and overbearing panic disappear. :sunny::sunny::sunny:

Drinking almost killed me, weed has helped keep me sober so thats what side im on haha. Rather smoke a blunt a day than 10-12 drinks like i was. Mushrooms have also helped as it took a bad trip to make me never want booze again

This is the best of my two cents I can add to such a discussion on such a issue/topic.
There are several programs out there and some ask for complete abstinence and some don’t. Like my sponsor always says to me “Tommy your an adult you can do whatever you want to do as long as you are willing to accept the consequences he then says consequences can be either negative and or positive.
“Tommy let me know how that works out for ya.”
So maybe you can come back in a bit and post how it’s been working out for ya :hugs:
To keep from heated discussion I will say “what ever program I do is what I do, what ever programs others do is what others do.
I’ve heard people speak about there beliefs before eventually reactions became offensive before you know it pride and ego raises its ugly head then people tend to take sides.. heck I’ve taken part in such actions before :man_shrugging:

Definitely a touchy subject in recovery, but worth talking about!!

Half measure a vail use nothing. Aa

No judgement but when I got sober the first time in 09 my sponsor told me weed maintenance is not good for my sobriety. He was right, took me back to drinking. But that was just my experience.

It’s what’s acceptable to me. Selfish and self centered hasn’t gone away for me it’s been redirected to find what’I find acceptable, I drank and shot dope so I could survive a life I created which was unacceptable to me. What anyone else thinks of me is none of my business. My membership is based on an honesty desire to stop drinking, simple

If you have to be under any form of influence, your have deep rooted issues that are not being dealt with. Period.

I really look at this as wishful and ridiculous justification. I could make the same argument for alcohol “if used properly”

Yeah, no one has any idea when it’s clear using is something one likes lol.

In the program I follow it is very clear that we are not doctors, and that we shouldn’t second guess our doctors opinions. So if a dr prescribes Wellbutrin for depression or anxiety I will take it. And if a dr prescribes thc gummies for depression or anxiety, I will decide for myself if this treatment is something I choose to pursue.

But the great, great thing, is that I get to work my program and you get to work yours. And if mine works for me and yours works for you, that means the world has 2 more ppl in recovery who can share their wisdom, strength and hope to addicts still suffering.
