I know everybodies recovery time is different, but i have had the worst sleep this past week being completely sober and i’ve always taken tylenol pm or something of that nature to help my sleep but it hasn’t been working. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated! TIA🖤
I would love to know the answer too!!! Terrible sleep:weary: I know I hoped the “ you will sleep soo much better” happened immediately! I too take ibprophen pm.. but well you can see by the time of the post how well THAT is goin
It has definitely been a restless week! It’s driving me crazy that i cannot get good sleep:sob: How long has it been going on for you? Hopefully it gets better soon for the both of us!
TIME... THINGS I MUST EARN. A PERSON IS GOING TO GO THROUGH THE EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER IN THE FIRST YEAR OR SO. REMEMBER. YOU ARE NOW STARTING TO BECOME AWARE THAT YOU HAVE A SPIRITUAL MALADY. AND THERE WILL BE SOME TIME TO WORK THROUGH these emotions and being out of Balance. I'm in agreement that you're DRINKING AND USING CAREER HAS BEEN RUINED AND RECOVERY HAS BECOME VERY PERSONAL FOR YOU. BE a LONG TERM THINKER. You can change and get BETTER
For me I have to keep a sleep schedule. Also exercise and eating better. Less caffeine more water during the day. I stretch and meditate before bed but that’s more for the restless legs lol. You’ll create your own habits but def just focus on do healthy stuff during the day and stick with the sleep schedule regardless of how tired you are initially.
Yeah definitely not easy at first, especially if your mind won’t shut up at night lol. It’s going to be rough at first. Don’t drink caffeine, exercise, and getting to bed earlier helped me in the long run.
It’s just going to take time. Maybe try staying active during the day and incorporating some meditation. You’ve got this!
Only a week … last night I at least slept through the night!! Yes definitely prayer and encouragement to it getting easier! You go girl!
Your body and mind need to detox then you may get some better sleep. It’s tough in the beginning. If you can’t sleep don’t fight it. Do something productive whether it is journaling, reading, exercising, housekeeping etc. use time wisely, when your body is tired enough you’ll sleep. Good luck. Plus drink lots and lots of water.
Have you ever tried listening to a sleep story? Those are pretty soothing and sometimes work. But if you’re that restless it might not be enough. If you’re willing to take Tylenol pm, maybe try NyQuil or if you want to avoid that then a Benadryl? Your body’s chemicals do just get all out of whack though and need some time to regulate again so it also just takes patience too. Definitely sucks but we’re on the road to feeling great!!!
If you have a doctor I would recommend asking for trazodone. It worked really well for me.
Mine lasted a few weeks.... and I got crazy sweats like I was swimming in my sheets it was terrible... sleep has been a problem for most of my life, but when I got thru the detox, I started sleeping great it was amazing...
Try melatonin, valerian root, nighty night tea, don't eat an hour or so before bed, cut back sugar, and get some exercise every day even if it's just a brisk walk
If u need anything, hit me up... you're not alone, and we all share this bond...
Are you familiar with psychosis? I'm not. Since Saturday night I've been having auditory hallucinations. I'm sober. I slept last night albeit only 6 hours yet tonight I can't get to sleep.
I don't want medication if this if just going to go away. Do you know of any holistic approaches or have any psychological advice?
Philippians 4: 6-7 helped me n still helps me. Google it. Yu won't regret
Very nice artwork. It's one day at a time this too shall pass your body's feeling what you used to numb turn it over to God as we understand him
I had crazy vivid dreams that left me anxious in the morning. They finally stopped mostly. Still have them occasionally but definitely not as much. Sleep was not the restful kind for a little while but it subsides. Hang in there!
First two weeks will be rough. But it will get better. You’ll have the best sleep ever when that time comes
Sleeping has been an issue. I didn't sleep well for the first 6 months of sobriety. I learned to meditate and that really helped a lot.
I still have the anxiety that can keep me awake. I doubt that will go away. I just plan for it better than I used to.
Keep at it. It takes work to stay sober
I wish I had better news for you...but you can do it!!!
Took me a couple of weeks to
