This makes no sense to me: "If you believe in life (what does THAT mean exactly?) then you believe I'm some form of god?
I think I think this is nonsense but I'm not sure. Believe in life? So? If I believe in something tangible, then I should believe in something intangible too? Please don't bring up "the wind", okay? I know you can't see wind but "it exists". I thought that argument was dumb in 5th grade.
I agree with the word "god" being confusing but I also find higher power to be confusing. And that is Only because, very generally speaking, god believers, especially American christians are so pushy with their believes. They want you to be open minded and yet they are not. They say "your HP can be "group of drunks", again, "god". Everyone must always be cautious of making them sad and yet they have no problem pushing ther nonsense on others. I feel that 50% of AA old timers just have it in their heads that "eventually you'll get it" meaning conversion. They say "spirituality " but they really just mean god, and try to use whatever nomenclature to keep you coming until you perceive some basic coincidence or moment of clarity that comes from slowing down, living life and not being wasted as some sort of supernatural white light experience. Last night's lead kept going on about how his HP was "looking out for him" because he "was having a really bad day" and he was sitting in his car stewing over things when a guy walked up to him and asked if he was "looking for the meeting". This was this guy's white light moment. A little back story... Cleveland(where this took place) has 1000 meetings a week within 20 miles of eachother. Lakewood, a suburb of Cleveland, has 1/3 of those meetings and is 7 square miles. Just about every church or library in Lakewood has a meeting, around the time he was tripping out. THIS is this guy's come to Jeebus moment. FFS there are more meetings that bars and churches here. The internet has proven over and over again that humans generally are unable to process data reasonably.
I get what youâre saying. I know itâs true because I hear it all the time from others like you. I live in a fairly large city with a good amount of open minded people. People who think like us far outweigh the Bible thumpers. Plus, for me, I just choose to not let it bother me anymore. Maybe thatâs because Iâm not constantly getting it thrown in my face like others. I only get upset when it starts to effect the newcomers. Fortunately my home group is extremely loose with the power greater than ourselves concept, as well as drug talk. We have a few people with 30+ years of sobriety. The ones I know are very chill. This app has open my mind to the problems that others face with AA. I only know what I know, but thanks to all of you, Iâm aware and concerned for those living in areas that are more populated by close minded people. Peace out brother

Well..I canât account for religious folks. However, if someone feels they need a spiritual connection to stay sober and better themselves I support it.
Life is a sum total of everything⌠including you. And thatâs essentially the definition of God if you strip away all the religious dogmas and human added nonsense. And yes, since you are part of it, you are necessary to the whole existence simply because you exist. There is so much intelligence in one cell, much less the whole universe itâs just not bound by human feelings and thank God (pun intended) otherwise this would be a total mess. You can think whatever you want, you can agree or disagree, you still exist with all your opinions because something gave you consciousness to even have an opinion and that something wasnât your parents. They only assisted in the biological portion of it. You provide a function to this life weather in destruction or creation or both. All of those functions are important theyâre just not personal. You have a choice, or free will which function you will provide. Take care. Itâs a fascinating topic once you get past the prejudice.

Seriously though, I find you are very hard headed and closed minded to any and all ideas on this subject matter. Thatâs cool with me. Doesnât change my life, or the fact that I value your input. I understand you feel that way about the âgodâ pushers. Iâm with you on that. I have a difficult time with those that claim to know one way or the other, and then push that on others
I'm as hard headed in my non belief as the pushers are in their blind faith belief. It's the only thing I don't give an inch to on here, because the religious control has been so venomous and I see what it does to people here who feel they aren't "worthy" etc etc. That shĂŻt breaks my heart.
I'm not arguing that. My post was for people who don't want/need god in their lives but want to remain sober.

Is true you donât have to believe in anything at all you just have to be open minded and willing to believe, anyone can stay sober all you have to do is not drink, a lot of people cannot achieve long term sobriety though until the spiritual part of alcoholism is addressed and yes this is where God comes in, however God is just a word that gets so misinterpreted, automatically we want to attach religion to it.
Religion is for people who donât want to go to where Lucifer lives spirituality is for those who have been there already 
People keep saying that "god" and religion are not the same thing but that just is not true. The very definition of religion has nothing to do with denomination but everything to do with a supernatural being.
